EUROPEAN BISON SHOW FARM

Just a few hundred meters away from the Old Town in Pszczyna you can see... the European bison. Just visit the European Bison Show Farm in the "Menagerie" part of historic park. You will have the opportunity to watch the habits of the largest of European mammals there, and also to see other animals typical for southern Poland, i.e. - mouflon, deer, roe deer and fallow deer, as well as other inhabitants of the farm, such as mallards, ruddy shelducks, black geese, swan geese, swans and peafowls.

TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICE

Pszczyna's Tourist Information Office was established on 31st August, 2002, at the initiative of the Agency for Development and Promotion of Pszczyna with the participation of the Town Council. The office is located in the late Renaissance entrance gate to the Castle Museum, the Gate of the Elect (dated 1687). The office provides comprehensive tourist information regarding the region's historic places and monuments, as well as tourist facilities, such as hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, sport and leisure centres and other tourist attractions. You can also obtain information on cycling paths and hiking trails in and around Pszczyna.

Pszczyna is situated on the crossing of two routes: Katowice-Bielsko-Biała-Cieszyn and Oświęcim-Rybnik.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR VISITORS

Planning your visit

  • The open-air museum may be visited individually and in groups.

  • Tourists and groups may visit the museum privately or with a tour guide.

  • Guided tours are charged extra (PLN 50 for a group up to 30 people).

  • Guided tours require prior booking at tel. (+48) 32 210 57 77 and (+48) 604 508 718, or via e-mail, at skansen.pszczyna@gmail.com, no later than 3 days before arrival.

  • Visitors are required to leave the museum by closing time.

  • There is a free car park for private vehicles in Dworcowa Street (the museum accessed from Dworcowa Street).

  • The ticket office accepts cash only.

  • The open-air museum is closed on: 1st January, Easter Sunday, 1st November, 25th December.

  • The museum souvenir shop is open during the museum's opening hours.

Museum Rules and Regulations

  • Touching or moving exhibits and furniture, damaging display items and entering restricted areas are forbidden.
  • The apiary in the museum is a functioning apiary.
  • Dogs and other animals are not allowed.
  • Smoking and drinking alcohol in the museum is strictly forbidden.
  • Intoxicated persons may not enter the museum.
  • Visitors must stick to designated paths.
  • The open-air museum shall not be liable for items left by visitors on its premises.
  • Private photographing and filming is permitted, free of charge.
